My background is in both marketing, I hold a BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University - Mays Business School, and law, I am licensed to practice law and went to Texas A&M University School of Law. I consider myself a multipotentialite because I not only have a degree in marketing and a law license, but I was a competitive gymnast, a writer, an actress with an acting agent for 15 years, and more. A multipotentialite is someone who doesn't have one true calling like specialists do. We have the ability to be successful in multiple industries sometimes simultaneously.

Through my podcast I want to help you realize Your Potential for Everything and learn from my guests about how they have managed to lead lives in multiple careers and never had to settle for having one answer to the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

In this episode of Your Potential for Everything, host Alex brings on Natalie Allport, a former former Canadian national team snowboarder and lifelong entrepreneur. Natalie talks with Alex about how Action Sports transition athletes well into entrepreneurship and how Mindset and Fear played into her snowboarding career.

Natalie started slopestyle snowboarding at the relatively ripe old age of 13 years old when most kids start to feel fear creep into their lives. Her foray into action sports was not uncommon considering she grew up in Canada with a family that loved to ski. She made the Canadian Junior National Slopestyle Snowboard team and her identity was wrapped up in the sport. Fear did play a factor in her eventual retirement, but she knew she wanted to do more than snowboard and had a constantly curious mind.

While she always had an entrepreneurial flare, she was not always able to cultivate it during her snowboarding career unless she had time off due to injury. She understood the importance of visualization and mindset in her sport and she carried over skills like adaptability and relationship building from sports to the business world.
