My background is in both marketing, I hold a BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University - Mays Business School, and law, I am licensed to practice law and went to Texas A&M University School of Law. I consider myself a multipotentialite because I not only have a degree in marketing and a law license, but I was a competitive gymnast, a writer, an actress with an acting agent for 15 years, and more. A multipotentialite is someone who doesn't have one true calling like specialists do. We have the ability to be successful in multiple industries sometimes simultaneously.

Through my podcast I want to help you realize Your Potential for Everything and learn from my guests about how they have managed to lead lives in multiple careers and never had to settle for having one answer to the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

In this episode of Your Potential for Everything, host Alex brings on Jess Davis, founder of GameHer, manager of Youth Basketball Operations at the Cleveland Cavaliers, & guru to Cavs Legion GC of the NBK 2K League. Jess talks to Alex about the Cleveland Cavaliers, Female Gamers, & Esports Player Development.

Jess started gaming at a young age and also playing traditional basketball throughout her life. She founded GameHer in 2013 to because she noticed she wasn’t coming across female gamers in Madden and NBA 2K. Jess wanted to connect females gamers with each other. Throughout her journey she has worked with the Cleveland Cavaliers at a variety of positions and when they added an NBA 2K team to their portfolio, she knew she could lend a hand.

While many people understand the importance of player development off the court for professional athletes in traditional sports, many people don’t understand that professional esports players need that as well. Jess works with Cavs Legion GC players on their player development off the court and understands the vital role it plays in the overall health and wellness of the gamers. Recently two female gamers were drafted in the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft and Jess discusses this step toward diversity, equity, and inclusion in the league.
